G4F Prod and G4F Lab at the XR Exhibition
On March 26 and 27, G4F Prod and G4F Lab will be attending Immersity, the XR exhibition in Angoulême, to present 2040 Critical Mistrust, a thrilling VR escape game set in a retro-futuristic atmosphere.
This cooperative game immerses players in the year 2040, aboard a space station. A pandemic threatens humanity, and a team representing the four major world powers is sent into orbit to develop a cure.
A Sound Experience at the Heart of the Game
2040 Critical Mistrust is the result of a collaboration between several European studios:
La Compagnie des Martingales (Angoulême) – Producer
GameExPro (Berlin) – Game design & development
Studio Nyx (Angoulême) – Art direction & animation
Red Comet (Angoulême) – Visual concepts & storyboard
G4F Prod (Angoulême) – Sound design & audio atmosphere
G4F Prod crafted an immersive and dynamic soundscape tailored to the game’s narrative flow: a slow-building tension, strong contrasts, and carefully designed SFX to enhance the VR experience. One of the key challenges was optimizing the audio for VR headsets like the Oculus Quest 2, while preserving a rich and impactful sound environment.
G4F at the Crossroads of Video Games and XR
With 2040 Critical Mistrust, G4F Prod showcases its expertise in immersive audio for video games, while G4F Lab explores its applications in the XR industry.
